Grief is a profound and complex emotion that we experience when we lose someone we love. This does not always mean through death; it can also mean losing a friendship or relationship.
Grief encompasses a range of feelings such as sadness, anger, confusion, and despair. However, beneath the pain lies a beautiful truth: grief is, at its core, a manifestation of the love we had for the person we lost. We cannot have grief if we do not have love.
Grief as the Love You Had
Grief can be seen as a negative emotion, associated with suffering and heartache. However, reframing grief as the love we had for someone can bring a sense of comfort and meaning to the experience. Our grief is a testament to the depth of the love we shared with the person or pet who passed away. It is a reflection of the love that filled our hearts and continues to exist. It’s a beautiful thing to consider!
When we grieve, we honour the memories, the connection, and the impact that person or animal had on our lives. We may feel overwhelmed by sorrow, but it is a testament to the love we still carry within us. Acknowledging grief as the love we had allows us to cherish the time we spent together, celebrating the moments of joy and embracing the wonderful impact that person had on our life.
Grief, Mediumship, and Healing
Mediumship, the ability to connect with spirits, has long been associated with grief and the longing to communicate with loved ones who have passed away. While some may question the validity of such connections, many individuals, such as myself and many of my clients, have reported profound healing experiences through mediumship. For myself, I had experienced calmness and happiness after connecting with my brother through a medium. It was truly healing.
Mediumship offers a sense of reassurance and healing, allowing individuals to receive messages, guidance, and even validations from their departed loved ones. These connections can bring solace, as they provide evidence that the love we had for someone is still present and that they continue to watch over us.
Moreover, grief is a transformative process, and mediumship can play a role in this transformation. It allows individuals to explore their emotions, ask unanswered questions, and explore the possibility that their loved one remains close. Mediumship can offer a new meaning in life after loss.
A Personal Journey
Healing from loss is a deeply personal journey, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. However, embracing grief as the love we had and exploring possibilities like mediumship can be beneficial for those seeking comfort and healing. It is important to remember that healing does not mean forgetting or moving on, but rather finding ways to integrate the love and memories of the departed into our lives, allowing their spirit to live on within us.
Grief, as the love we had for someone, is a testament to the depth of our connections and the impact they had on our lives. Mediumship offers healing, closure, and an opportunity to continue the bond with our departed loved ones. I appreciate and understand grief can be painful, embracing it as the love within us allows us to honour and celebrate the memories and find solace in the transformative power of the grieving process. I encourage you to consider seeing a medium for grief and loss during your healing journey.
