How To Practice Mediumship | Improve Your Spiritual Communication

Many of us who are interested in mediumship have wondered at some point how to practice mediumship. It’s one thing to learn about it – it’s another thing to practice! We may start out wondering and researching about the spirit world. We do some of our own research and investigations, read books, or possibly attend a demonstration or a church. It is through this inquiring and investigation stage that we may then wonder, can I really become a medium?  If one has the draw and desire, then there is a good possibility that you can become a medium!  What does it take to improve spiritual communication? Becoming a good evidential medium that clients would be happy with takes time and dedication along with practical experience and learning about yourself in the process. What is interesting is that many experienced mediums still require regular practice to continually hone their amazing connection to spirit and improve spiritual communication. While practicing mediumship, one is constantly developing because no one is ever fully developed. I am a strong believer that we are never completely developed as a medium and can always improve our skills and connection to the spirit world. My 82-year-old teacher, Mavis Pittilla, indicates that her mediumship still continues to evolve by working and connecting to the spirit world.   Learning how to practice mediumship takes time, patience, lifelong commitment and research, but it is so worth it! Why is it so important to practice mediumship? Have you considered that the spirit world continually teaches and mentors us along our path in life? It is my belief and experience that this is true. For our development and learning, we must be open to gaining spiritual knowledge and understanding the spirit world and practicing mediumship when we can.    When we begin our journey of learning how to practice mediumship, we need to learn and feel our own sensitivity to the spirit world. These sensitivities we use are for improving our ability to communicate with the spirit world.  Therefore, by practicing mediumship, we become more aware of our own sensitivity.  Practicing mediumship is essential for most mediums, including beginner mediums. Not only does practicing mediumship allow us to learn about our sensitivity and how we feel the spirit world, but it also strengthens soul-to-soul connections. Let me explain. Mediumship is about using our soul to connect with another soul in the spirit world. This ‘soul connection’ is how the information flows from the spirit world to the medium. And so, it is through learning about our own soul that we encounter and strengthen the most important part of the relationship experience with the spirit world – a medium connecting their own soul to a sitter or person in the spirit world. This is what provides accuracy for the medium and the information to flow to the sitter, because a medium can relay information much more accurately with their soul rather than their mind; the conscious mind will struggle, become distracted, and will mainly interfere with inaccurate information. A medium will see the most improvement when they can get control of their own monkey mind, as the mind will not have the answers that the soul has. So, it is important to practice mediumship, because each time you practice, you will continue to improve that soul-to-soul connection. For anyone who asks me how to practice mediumship, this is an essential understanding to have first before practicing. How To Practice Mediumship I have explained a bit about why it is so important to practice mediumship. However, how to do it! That’s another thing. The practice and improvement of a new medium is in the learning and understanding of the soul; this allows mediumship to flourish. Learning how to practice mediumship doesn’t need to be daunting – I have a two main suggestions for how to practice mediumship and improve understanding of the soul. Try joining a circleA circle is where several like minded and developing mediums gather together, either online or in person, to do readings for each other. Essentially they are exchanging readings. Doing exchange readings can further develop a new medium’s skills and allows the awareness to strengthen without needing clients right away. There are many circles often found locally at spiritualist churches or through a medium that may offer services close by. In addition, you can try finding circles online, such as through Facebook groups. This is especially helpful during COVID times and these groups often have various levels of ability for a developing  medium to work with.  It may not be ideal in some situations to practice mediumship online, but I can attest that mediumship development and readings can certainly be done over the internet successfully! It’s the teachers you have that matter most; development of a medium can be achieved very highly with great teachers, regardless of if it’s in person or not.   In addition, online learning can be particularly helpful if a new medium lives in a remote area or does not know individuals that are able to practice with them. Finding the people to practice with is essential for feeling, sensing, knowing, smelling and visualizing the spirit world.  Circles can also be a great place for educational purposes and discussing theory and philosophy when learning how to practice mediumship. If the circle is managed by an experienced medium, then the medium will likely provide some teaching and encouragement. In addition, the teacher allows the participants to try different exercises to learn their particular style of communication.  I suggest finding a circle where there is sensitivity given to the teaching aspect and a positive communication style. Find a circle that makes you feel secure and safe in the environment.  Attempting communication takes dedication and effort is not easy, so having a supportive environment is critical to moving a medium forward. In a supportive circle, a new medium will easily gain knowledge and be able to practice soul-to-soul connection with other like-minded people. I can’t recommend it enough! Improve awareness and clear

4 Practical Tips For Mediumship Beginners

I am fortunate to have clients and friends all over the world interacting with me for mediumship readings. One of the questions I often get asked is do I have any tips for mediumship beginners. For myself, developing mediumship was exceedingly difficult because I was isolated in the Northwest Territories of Canada and did not have a lot of people to communicate with about intuitive or mediumship practices. For those who feel isolated and unsure, know that you are not alone! It’s very common for many new mediums to come into mediumship and Intuitive work without people that understand. However, in this day and age with social media and communication through the internet, there are ways to stay connected and join like minded people who are also developing mediumship. Especially now because of COVID, there are many classes now available online that were not available before. The community has excellent tutors now teaching online, including tutors from the incredibly famous Arthur Findlay College in the United Kingdom. I attended the college several years ago, and it had such a positive impact when I was developing mediumship abilities. If you’ve been wanting to learn about mediumship, and are focused on how to become a medium, please enjoy my 4 tips for mediumship beginners below. Mediumship Made Easy: Tips For Mediumship Beginners If you’re wanting to learn for the first time how to become a medium, I do not want to claim that it will be easy or quick. But these are the tips that have helped me the most when developing mediumship, and I hope they will give a sense of mediumship made easy for those just starting out. Tip #1: Locate and attend mediumship demonstrations.I strongly recommend attending as many mediumship demonstrations as you can. There’s plenty happening online now these days. It is important to witness different mediums working with the spirit world, and what type of evidence and information they can each provide. Perhaps you’ll find a medium who provides you with inspiration and information that you can use to help you in your own development. Plus you’ll be able to experience the knowledge that the spirit world is so extremely near to us! A beginner can also look at some of the quality youtube videos that are available online. This has helped many people learn in their own time in their own space. Tip #2: Read books on the subject. There are some amazing books out there for learning about mediumship that I cannot recommend enough. I want to highlight one book in particular, Droplets of God: The Life and Philosophy of Mavis Pittilla by Suzanne Giesemann.   This is a recent book on the philosophy and time of my teacher.   There are many other books that I can recommend on development.  In addition,  you may want to consider reading some of the older books from years past.  The pioneers of spiritation have had a remarkable time in their era with mediumship development.  Books really do change lives, and they can open up the heart for those learning how to become a medium. Tip #3: Find a good mentor or teacher for yourself. When learning how to become a medium, it’s important to have teachers, take classes, and participate in demonstrations to find a teacher that suits you. Once you find that teacher, try to stick with them as your mediumship flourishes. I am fortunate to have Mavis Pittilla as my teacher for the past six years.  Tip #4: Participate in circles for development. There are many development circles in which to practice your connection to spirit. A development circle is where you would get together and practice with others who are also interested in their own development. Circles date back to the early ages of 1800s, and possibly before. Try searching for some online or joining some in Facebook groups. The connections you make there will last a lifetime and there’s so much you can glean when developing mediumship, plus you will probably find numerous other tips for mediumship beginners in them. Good luck! The road to development is a rewarding and also challenging one. If you have any questions about my tips for mediumship beginners, please contact me.

Are you being held back from doing mediumship readings for others?

This is a very interesting question when it comes to doing mediumship readings for others. What holds us back from doing something that we absolutely love, that brings us fulfilment and also helps others? Simply put, it’s fear of the unknown! It is fear that often drives many of us away from doing something that brings joy. This could easily be applied to anything – fear in our work, in our creativity or even in our education. It is very difficult to experience such fear, and many of us have indeed experienced it with the things we love!    Imagine being a singer and standing up in a large auditorium, singing for the first time in front of others. It must be quite scary! I look at the young individuals on the series The Voice and I commend them for their ability to stand up and sing in front of so many, conquering their fears. We as an audience don’t often see the fear, the hesitation, or the challenges that they’re up against when the contestants stand up in front of a live Network audience and television viewers. Many need to work through their fear to have success in their lives and overcome fear of performance. They’ve had to work through their anxiety to get to where they are. I appreciate their willingness to break through to become the true spirit that they are. The spirit is amazing when we allow ourselves to grow and exist in our natural way.   Why We Might Fear Doing Mediumship Readings For Others When doing mediumship readings for others, it is much the same thing; as we begin to develop and enhance the skills necessary for being a professional medium, there is a fear that is often attached to coming out as a medium and being visible to others. We have fears of becoming known, or in the practice of mediumship, fears of not being “good enough.”    We have fears due to lack of mediumship and psychic training, and fear of providing a reading for somebody that is not resonating with the sitter. With doing mediumship readings for others, there are fears about not being able to connect with spirit because we don’t want to be wrong.  As mediums, we don’t want to look like we are inadequate, tired, or unknowledgeable about the spirit world. I can understand this; it was in my early days of development that I was fearful of pulling up a chair with somebody to provide an experimental reading. We practiced by doing psychic and mediumship readings for each other.  When we sit across and have little to provide, a reader can feel inadequate, unable to connect, and definitely fearful of doing additional sittings going forward. I’ve had this experience in my early days when I began doing mediumship readings for others. I often looked at the sitter, gazed into their eyes, assessed where they were at and tried to provide a reading. One of the things that often happens is that we’re very hard on ourselves. We’re hard on what we said, what we felt or the information that we’ve provided to the sitter.   If you consider the contestants on The Voice, do you think that each person had an easy time when they were developing? It’s not easy for anybody to do their true calling, overcome fear of performance, or to find that love of spirit and want to continue with the hard work it takes to become a professional. Each person on The Voice has a dream of becoming a professional singer. Much like people who are developing as mediums, it takes work, dedication and trust.   How To Overcome Lack Of Confidence As A Medium I feel that the most significant impact for mediumship development is about trust. In fact, development is about trust completely! It’s about trusting that the spirit will be there to provide you the information, blend with you, and trust for a strong connection to the spirit world for the sitter. It’s trust in yourself that you can do the work and do it honestly and ethically. Trust and dedication leads to success for a professional medium, and more cionfidence when doing mediumship readings for others. I talked about fear in the beginning – it is a real thing in a mediumship. Many mediums, if not most, experience it. It is difficult to overcome and many people give up before the spirit draws a person back into the work. Fear is very difficult to overcome in life in general; it occurs in many different fields, but with practice, dedication and trust, and allowing your soul to guide you, you can do very well in mediumship if this is a field of work that you are called to do. All I can say is practice. Work with trusted people and get to know the spirit world and yourself well enough so that you’re confident each time you sit down with a person, you will have a spirit with you. It is the most gratifying reward that I can encourage people to pursue if there’s an interest in mediumship development. I’m always available via email if anybody wants to send me a quick note about fear, development or ask about any ideas that I may have to overcome your fear. Warm wishes to you!

How Mediumship Affects Your Life

It’s always interesting to share details about how mediumship affects your life, because it’s different for everyone. While there are challenges, there are also benefits of being a medium as it can have a positive impact on your life overall. When we look at something new, we like to ask others for their reviews on anything new. It is in this research that we often become more engaged and interested in a given subject. With mediumship and the afterlife, it is great that we want to research it. It is through understanding how mediumship affects your life that we begin to understand and have an appreciation for the spirit world.   For myself, mediumship had a positive effect on my life. In the beginning of my development, I loved touching each book that I read; I loved googling information on the spirit world and mediumship, and attending development circles. What I appreciated the most was meeting new people and individuals who had the same interest as myself.   The individuals were all unique and interesting. We all had very different backgrounds, upbringings and interests.  However, we had one thing in common – a love for the spirit world. We were genuinely very interested in learning about our soul and spirit, and the soul in the spirit world.  It was during the learning process that I felt such a positive impact on myself and my mediumship development, and I began to understand how mediumship affects your life.  The thing that is most interesting and often what most mediums experience when it comes to the benefits of being a medium is, in the early stages of my development, I found myself questioning areas of my life and friends, which led to me questioning if I was on the right path in life. It is through this line of questioning that a shift occurred, and an appreciation of a larger, grander world of the spirit grew.  Through learning about spirit world communication and how mediumship affects your life, one comes to understand that there are many forms of mediumship such as healing, spirit art, demonstrations, private sittings, and trance, to name a few. These are some of the disciplines within the healing arts of mediumship. There was much soul searching that occurred for me when entering into the hearing arts of mediumship. And because of my mediumship development and knowledge, a lot of areas in my life have changed for the better. As I continued through my development of attending circles, church services, and practicing online, I frequently thought about mediumship and how to fit it into my life. I continued to expand my learnings and keep widening my knowledge about the spirit world. However, I must indicate that developing as a medium can be quite difficult mentally for some.   Challenges Around How Mediumship Affects Your Life Working with mediumship, psychic practices and development circles can be quite difficult. One of the challenges of how mediumship affects your life can happen when providing information to a sitter, and the response is discouraging.  For instance, receiving a ‘No’ from a sitter when the medium wanted a ‘Yes!’  Depending on the response, it may be off-putting, either to the sitter or medium, and it can also deflate a person. Humans want to be right. Our minds congratulate us on being right. However, when we are incorrect, it can be very taxing on your confidence and values.  Another concern that is often raised is the difficulty one experiences if one is very analytical or constantly seeking perfection. When doing readings, it’s not that easy to have a perfect reading every single time or to have excellent accuracy. You can imagine how it would make a medium feel to hear ‘No, that information is incorrect’ when the medium genuinely wants things to be perfect for the sitter. This area of development can sometimes knock a medium off their chair, but if a medium can get through these inner struggles, there is much reward. Slowly, the ‘No’ response will reduce and the ‘Yes’ response will increase. For myself, it was quite a rocky road to learning the different techniques, sensations and feelings because each one of us is different and we must all explore and learn about our own sensations and capabilities. This is all part of how mediumship affects your life in many ways. My capabilities and sensitivity are not the same as any other medium. A medium’s skills develop differently according to different teachers, and our sensitivity also varies from medium to medium. When faced with perfectionism and ‘No’ responses, a medium must work through those challenging times to become more professional and confident. If a medium is not able to work through the negativity or lack of confidence, there will be a negative effect on the reading and the soul.       The Benefits of Being A Medium There are so many benefits of being a medium. I love mediumship! I have gained so much respect for myself, the spirit world, and the Earth in general. Mediumship has provided me a much deeper understanding of the world of the spirit. It has shown me how much love there is for all of us on Earth, and it has shown me amazing evidence of survival after death. I have seen mediums demonstrate amazing spirit art, and witnessed healing trance demonstrations. In fact all forms of mediumship are healing, both to the medium and to the sitter.   In terms of how mediumship affects your life, mediumship has taught me more about the human soul and the power the soul has to carry us through the darkest times of our lives. It’s taught me about the spirit that ignites our beautiful soul and the beauty of life itself. I look at things much differently now, and my world is at peace. Mediumship brings peace for the sitter and the medium; there is peace when the sitter receives the evidential aspect of mediumship, and there is peace when the medium feels, sees

Did I have any childhood experiences with the spirit world?

As a spiritual medium and psychic, you may wonder if I had any childhood experiences with the spirit world while growing up. This is always a remarkably interesting question because each of us is a unique individual and we will have all different experiences with spirit. For some, these experiences happen early in life while others happened quite late in life.  Each one of us has a varying different level of sensitivity to spirit, our own spirit, and the spirit world.  When gathering with some of my mediumship friends, we sometimes discuss what our first encounters were of the spirit world. For me, it happened much later in life. I was a busy mom and businessperson. I did not have time to digest or even consider a spirit world. The thought of a spirit world or a person passing over was so difficult for me, after losing my brother in 1990.  Years passed and I continued to be busy working and minding my way through life until several pivotal events occurred. Due to these events, I started down the road of mediumship inquiry and understanding of the spirit world.   Even though mediums can have childhood experiences with the spirit world, a large portion of my mediumship acquaintances give a consensus that their awareness and development of the spirit world started during their adult years, like myself. And in fact, these friends in particular expressed they did not have childhood experiences with the spirit world, also like myself. However, for some of my medium friends, they did have childhood experiences with the spirit world. But then, the sensitivity of spirit would often subside during their teens and young adult life, only to resurface later when the time was right.  What do I mean by ‘childhood experiences with the spirit world’? You may be wondering what exactly I’m talking about when I refer to childhood experiences with the spirit world. I’m not referring to any sort of paranormal experience in the pop culture sense, like seeing ghosts or growing up in a haunted house. I’m talking about experiences where a child has an increased sensitivity – seeing, feeling, and hearing through their senses. A child has the time and ability to relax and feel deeply, and these feelings can lead to the awareness of spirit.  Sometimes there is a correlation where individuals who come into mediumship often do so because of difficulties and loss in their life, sometimes from childhood or early adult life. Through these difficult and even traumatic events, it allows the spirit to awaken.   My daughter, around the age of six or seven, spoke of a young spirit lady who communicated with her. The spirit lady’s name was something like Aleasa. The guidance I was given by a Spiritualist minister at the time was not to overact, but to just accept and see what happens.  Over time, the discussions subsided which worked well for our family. Each family of course is different, and you must do what you believe is correct for you.      For those who have a child with sensitivity to spirit – maybe their grandpa or grandmother – it is best not to dismiss it and not to overreact either, as these situations may create overly concerned reactions from those the child trusts, like their mom and dad.   If you have a child who is sensitive, it is my suggestion just to accept that they have a beautiful friend, and they may talk about someone who has a name and personality. There is nothing to fear when it comes to the spirit world; it is a loving and caring world.

Why do I have dreams about deceased loved ones?

I believe it is possible to communicate with spirits in dreams, and so I was asked recently: what does it mean to have dreams about deceased loved ones? This is a great question. I have experienced and do believe that we can communicate in our dreams with individuals who have passed – our family, friends, and pets. In my experience when I have dreams about deceased loved ones, they show themselves quite vividly, often healthy looking and with much love.  In particular, there are two dreams I’ve had that stand out for me. Both dreams were very impactful; one was of my brother, and the other of my grandfather. When my brother came to see me years ago in my dream – well before I became a medium – he arrived as a bright vibrant person wearing a bright white shirt and jeans, almost glowing in his appearance. In the dream, he loaded my luggage into the back of an Aerostar van (that’s an old one!) and told me telepathically that I was going to be okay.   I have shortened the full extent of the dream, but the message there was that I was changing, life was changing for me and he was helping me pack up and he was there to support me. I always knew this was his spirit communicating with me and a few years later I understood the significance of it.  When my grandfather came to me in a dream, I did not recognize him it until it was morning. He had his 50’s glasses on, and we were flying over our small town. Then we were in Disneyland and I was lost sitting on the side street with so many people.  He was right beside me.  He gave me a teddy bear and told me that I would be okay.  Again, there is much more to this, however the result of my grandfather coming to see me was that I was lost, and I would find my way.  At the time this was in fact true for me, and I can see why I would get a teddy bear from my grandfather.   My grandfather was so young and energized, lovely to see, and his facial features were the same but youthful and plump.  Both spirits were both supporting me in a none-verbal way and providing me with information about my life.  They didn’t necessarily communicate with me in my dream as one would expect; instead, they were a presence and they communicated through their eyes and thoughts. Both assisted with enlightening me about the meaning of my life. They also showed me my struggles, and what opportunities were in store for my future.   Do you have dreams about deceased loved one? If you have dreams about deceased loved ones, this is what I call a Visitation dream, and you may find that these dreams are quite different than our “normal” action packed dreams, or typical scary dreams, or other challenges and adventures that we encounter in our dreams. Some dreams we wake up and we wonder what was that all about! The dreams I had of my brother and grandfather were Visitation dreams. There are also dreams that are different than Visitation or regular dreams, where we may receive information from our higher consciousness. I call these Subconscious dreams. I’ll give you an example. I dreamed once that my teacher gave me a plump, beautiful, healthy, pig. Yes, she gave me a pig in my dreams!   But when I woke in the morning, I could not figure out why this pig was given to me.  It was a startling dream to say the least.  However, when I looked up the meaning of pigs in dreams, I found that a pig is often a sign of change, generally good ones. Especially if the pig is healthy, you might experience some new business success or career progress.  Isn’t that awesome! And in fact – this dream came about during my mediumship training and unfolding into something more, so I now look back on my beautiful pig as an inspiration of positive change.    I believe that there is a big difference between Subconscious dreams where you connect with your higher self, and Visitation dreams, where you may have dreams about deceased loved ones. The difference is in the vividness and the absolute beauty of our deceased loved ones during a Visitation dream. When our loved one comes to see us in dreams, it is often during a time in our life when we need their help.  But man, oh man, they are the most beautiful dreams! Because you can feel them right with you right with you.  Once a person wakes up from dreams about deceased loved ones, there is often a feeling of knowing that your family was with you. I have met others who were slightly shaken because of the vividness and they didn’t really know if it was their family spirit or not.  After listening to their stories and their experience, it is often with gratitude and thankfulness that I can assure them that a loved one was with them in their dreams. So, to answer the post’s question of what does it mean to have dreams about deceased loved ones – it means that your family is with you, and they are sending you love and support at a time in your life when you need it most. And they may even enlighten you about other things like your purpose, your struggles, or what’s to come in the future for you. On the other hand, I believe some of our “regular” dreams are our higher selves telling us something about our lives that is about to happen, or our higher self is coming to us at a time when we are working through difficulties and change in our lives. When our family visits us in dreams about deceased loved ones, it feels very real,  amazingly vivid, and a connection that unlike any

How To Avoid Mediumship and Psychic Scams

Have you ever considered going to a medium or psychic, but are reluctant to do so because you are unsure about their ethics and validity? It is easy to be concerned as many of us want to avoid mediumship and psychic scams; we don’t want to have our vulnerability compromised by someone we don’t know. However, I do believe in the work psychics and mediums do for the healing of others. And I do believe there are far more gifted and kind psychics and mediums available than not.    In my early days of learning about mediumship and psychic work, I wanted to see mediums and psychics in action for myself, so I could start gaining my own knowledge. I wanted to find out how they work, how does it feel, what type of information they would provide to me. There were times that I had some hesitancy because you are never quite sure of their reputation, skills, or ability. Unfortunately, mediumship and psychic scams are out there. My Experience With Readings That Didn’t Go Well For the most part, mediums are extremely honest, caring, and try very hard to please the client and the spirit world. However, I do recall once when I was travelling, I came upon a store that had mediums and psychics. I booked an appointment and met with a lady to do a psychic and mediumship reading. At that time, I was fascinated by mediums and psychics, and did not know anything about how to avoid mediumship or psychic scams, but I felt it would be a good experience. During the reading though, I answered too many questions and provided too much information about my life. I felt that the reading was more about the psychic giving me guidance after I provided the information. There was really nothing new, nothing enlightening, and nothing that was evidential in her reading. It was disheartening because I paid quite a bit of money with the exchange rate at the time. I left without feeling uplifted, and never remembered or retained any information from the reading. Did the medium know that she was not giving me correct or helpful information? I do not know. I do feel though that she genuinely believed in her heart that she was giving me good information that I could use in my situation at the time. While this lady may not have been a psychic scammer exactly, there was an underlying feeling that I had paid for something that was subpar.   A few years prior in the late 80s, I met a psychic in a travelling circus that came to our town. Nervous, I attempted to secure a reading and was successful. I was quite young at the time, and the psychic said that I would find two gentlemen right away, one of which would become my husband, but I would need to pick one from the two to marry. At the time as a young lady, it sounded great. Looking back now though, it was definitely far-fetched! As time went on, there was no blonde haired gentleman, nor did I have to pick between two. Thinking about the reading now, she was likely giving me information that she felt I wanted to hear. This is part of the danger with psychic scams; they tell people what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear. I believe some mediums who do not take training may work in the same way. Some may try to push encouraging information upon a sitter, and this is what happened to me at the circus. However, not all mediums and psychics are of this caliber. This is only my own personal experience and it is a very early one. Tips To Avoid Mediumship And Psychic Scams Why is it that some people are concerned or scared to see a psychic or medium? Well, it doesn’t help that we have all seen television shows sometimes portraying psychics as scammers, or even detective shows that talk about scammers in the psychic and mediumship environment. We have also heard of people that had subpar readings and felt they had been scammed when they paid for their reading, similar to my experiences. I have a few important suggestions to make that will help you to avoid mediumship and psychic scams. Firstly, if you go to a medium and give several ‘No’ answers to things they ask, or if the medium asks a lot of questions, then there is a possibility the medium is not connected with you, and you need to consider if the reading is of benefit to yourself. In life we do not get along with every person we meet, and in mediumship it’s the same. There are times that a sitter and reader do not mesh well together, and that is understandable. This does not mean a scam has taken place, rather, it is just two people who may not work well with each other. For myself as a reader, if this occurs, then a full refund is provided to the client.   When trying to avoid mediumship and psychic scams, another tip is to ensure that you do not engage in excessive conversation during the reading. I suggest you only say ‘Yes,’ ‘No,’ or ‘I don’t know.’ Other than that, you should not provide detailed information to the psychic or medium.    The reason being is, if a sitter only uses ‘Yes,’ ‘No,’ or ‘I don’t know’ then the medium has more time to work. Also, it discourages the medium and sitter getting caught up in a side conversation. Any side conversations between the sitter and medium takes away from the spirit world, or the medium’s connection with the sitter’s soul. It is the responsibility of the medium to provide information to you in an ethical, honest, and evidential manner. All your readings should be evidence-based. Evidence-based readings are readings that have true knowledge about the sitter’s experiences that nobody else would know, evidence of your life or the ones that have passed.  When

Negative Encounters With The Spirit World | Do they happen?

In life, we often think about scary movies that leave an impact on us.  We begin to wonder about scary moments or negative encounters with the spirit world after watching crazy horror movies.  Sometimes people ask me if I’ve ever had any negative encounters with the spirit world, and the answer may surprise you. We all have scary dreams, or sometimes even ominous experiences where one might believe the spirit world is to blame. But in my experience of being a spiritual medium, I have actually never had a negative encounter with the spirit world. Not before, during or after a reading. It simply does not happen because that is not how the spirit world works! When we pass over, it is hard to believe that we would want to come back and scare our living family members, cause distress, or create havoc to our loved ones.   Although – I am sure some of us with a more joking attitude would love to ‘haunt’ our family, but that is not how it works. My teacher, Mavis Pittilla, is a great teacher and mentor, and is well regarded in the spiritualist community. It is my understanding that Mavis has not encountered a negative experience while communicating with the spirit world – and she has been a medium for over 50 years. This information, along with all of my co-mediums who say the same thing, tells me that having negative encounters with the spirit world simply does not happen. Where does our perception of negative encounters with the spirit world come from then? This is a good question, because if you really think about it, why would a family member come back only to be violent? Your answer may be the usual things – the person was murdered, or had a violent life, or they want revenge. But these are merely cliches and perceptions created by the media. Pop culture, media and films have planted numerous ideas about negative encounters with the spirit world, primarily for entertainment value. In addition, some religious organizations also speak ill of this type of communication and portray it in a very negative light. But in reality, the way a person lived or passed on does not create a malevolent nature when they communicate from the spirit world. Being scared of having negative encounters with the spirit world is really about our own fears. As awareness of spiritual communication and love from the spirit world evolves and more people become accustomed to the consideration of life after death, the fear will reduce within ourselves.  The spirit world really is full of love, and it’s a universal love that has no part in violent, scary, or negative communications with us. I have no fear whatsoever when sitting down with a client and connecting. But I do have a belief that we sometimes manufacture a lot of fear. Fear is part of the fabric of who we are. Every human is afraid of something, especially if it’s ‘the unknown.’   We become fearful when we do not understand something, and it can lead one to think that negative encounters with the spirit world can happen. A good example is when someone gets on an airplane for the first time, not really understanding how they work or not really believing fully that they’ll be ok. However, over time and with enough flights under our belts, the fear reduces. This is very much the same when a person comes to a medium for the first time. We are a society that has a lot of fear, and I understand that. But remember that sometimes ideas of scary things get manufactured, just by our own thoughts, and our own unsureness of the unknown.  So, if I can leave you with a thought of love, it is that the spirit world is full of love, and if they decide to communicate with us, they are going to communicate that love and how much they miss us and care for us, and that they are still with us.If you have any questions or concerns about having a spiritual reading, please contact me.
