The Journey Within Ourself

A lot of people think that mediumship means just communicating with spirit. This is definitely part of it, but true mediumship is so much deeper than delivering messages. Over the years, I’ve learned that mediumship creates change in the medium first. It changes how we see life, how we understand grief, and how we connect with others.

When I first started my journey back in 2011, I thought mediumship would provide me with certainty and answers. I booked multiple mediumship appointments whenever I could. I started learning over time that what mediumship was doing was actually providing me with answers. I gained awareness of myself, of others, and of how deeply connected life truly is. Mediumship taught me that every person carries experiences beneath their surface that others may never fully see. The smiling person may quietly carry grief. The strong person may feel exhausted inside. Working with Spirit softens you and teaches compassion in ways words just can’t fully explain.

Throughout my work, I have given readings to people during some of the most emotional moments for them. I’ve witnessed tears as a mother hears evidence from her son in Spirit. I’ve seen laughter when a father’s humour shines through exactly as it did in life. I’ve watched people move from heartbreak to comfort as they realize their loved ones still exist close by and still love them.

Moments of change

Those moments change you.

They remind you that love continues beyond physical death. They remind you how important kindness, compassion, and human connection really are. I truly feel that this is the medium’s way of understanding the world around us and the people in it.

Mediumship has also taught me the importance of stillness. In today’s busy world, people are constantly distracted by noise, schedules, and responsibilities. Yet Spirit often communicates quietly, through awareness, sensitivity, and presence.

I have learned that I need quietness in my own life, like gardening. I need moments to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with myself. Early in my development, I pushed myself too hard emotionally and mentally, ignoring the signs that my body and spirit needed rest. Eventually, I realized that sensitivity requires care and balance.

One of the greatest lessons mediumship has given me is trust. Not perfection. Not certainty. Trust. Trusting what I feel. Trusting what Spirit is showing me. Trusting that life often unfolds in ways we may not immediately understand.

There were periods in my life when I felt deeply uncertain and lost. Losing my brother Kelly years ago at the age of 21 changed the course of my life. More recently, losing my niece brought another layer of grief into my heart.  Grief changes people.

Mediumship as a way to understand

But mediumship helped me understand that healing does not mean forgetting. Healing means learning how to carry love differently. It means continuing forward while still honouring those we miss.

The Spirit world has shown me over and over again that love stays present. Not through fantasy or dreaming but through evidence, connection, and moments that touch the heart deeply.

This is why evidential mediumship matters so much to me!

Evidence brings healing because it provides recognition. A memory. A personality trait. A phrase someone used in life. These moments remind people that the soul survives physical death and that relationships continue beyond this world.

For me, mediumship has never been about performance. It has always been about service and helping people. And, most importantly, mediumship reminds us to live more fully while we are here.

Spirit often brings forward reminders about appreciating life’s small moments. Mediumship has taught me to slow down enough to truly notice life while I am living it. The warmth of family. The healing found in quiet moments. The beauty of connection. The sacredness of just being present.

I believe mediumship is not only about connecting with those in Spirit. It’s also about reconnecting people to themselves: their hearts, their healing, and the understanding that they are never truly alone.

And maybe that’s one of the greatest gifts Spirit gives us.
