I am fortunate to have clients and friends all over the world interacting with me for mediumship readings. One of the questions I often get asked is do I have any tips for mediumship beginners.
For myself, developing mediumship was exceedingly difficult because I was isolated in the Northwest Territories of Canada and did not have a lot of people to communicate with about intuitive or mediumship practices. For those who feel isolated and unsure, know that you are not alone! It’s very common for many new mediums to come into mediumship and Intuitive work without people that understand.
However, in this day and age with social media and communication through the internet, there are ways to stay connected and join like minded people who are also developing mediumship. Especially now because of COVID, there are many classes now available online that were not available before. The community has excellent tutors now teaching online, including tutors from the incredibly famous Arthur Findlay College in the United Kingdom. I attended the college several years ago, and it had such a positive impact when I was developing mediumship abilities.

Mediumship Made Easy: Tips For Mediumship Beginners
If you’re wanting to learn for the first time how to become a medium, I do not want to claim that it will be easy or quick. But these are the tips that have helped me the most when developing mediumship, and I hope they will give a sense of mediumship made easy for those just starting out.
Tip #1: Locate and attend mediumship demonstrations.
I strongly recommend attending as many mediumship demonstrations as you can. There’s plenty happening online now these days. It is important to witness different mediums working with the spirit world, and what type of evidence and information they can each provide. Perhaps you’ll find a medium who provides you with inspiration and information that you can use to help you in your own development. Plus you’ll be able to experience the knowledge that the spirit world is so extremely near to us! A beginner can also look at some of the quality youtube videos that are available online. This has helped many people learn in their own time in their own space.
Tip #2: Read books on the subject.
There are some amazing books out there for learning about mediumship that I cannot recommend enough. I want to highlight one book in particular, Droplets of God: The Life and Philosophy of Mavis Pittilla by Suzanne Giesemann. This is a recent book on the philosophy and time of my teacher. There are many other books that I can recommend on development. In addition, you may want to consider reading some of the older books from years past. The pioneers of spiritation have had a remarkable time in their era with mediumship development. Books really do change lives, and they can open up the heart for those learning how to become a medium.
Tip #3: Find a good mentor or teacher for yourself.
When learning how to become a medium, it’s important to have teachers, take classes, and participate in demonstrations to find a teacher that suits you. Once you find that teacher, try to stick with them as your mediumship flourishes. I am fortunate to have Mavis Pittilla as my teacher for the past six years.
Tip #4: Participate in circles for development.
There are many development circles in which to practice your connection to spirit. A development circle is where you would get together and practice with others who are also interested in their own development. Circles date back to the early ages of 1800s, and possibly before. Try searching for some online or joining some in Facebook groups. The connections you make there will last a lifetime and there’s so much you can glean when developing mediumship, plus you will probably find numerous other tips for mediumship beginners in them.
Good luck! The road to development is a rewarding and also challenging one. If you have any questions about my tips for mediumship beginners, please contact me.
